Trimmer handles bottles with offset necks.

A new rotary trimmer is designed for PP and HDPE bottles with offset necks and odd shapes, such as handled and F-style bottles for motor oil and household detergents. DTO Series trimmers from Belvac Production Machinery, Lynchburg, Va., use a rotary head with a cam-actuated, three-bladed knife that minimizes ovalization of containers during cutting. It also applies positive position control to containers, which provides chipless trimming and minimizes knife abrasion. Throughput is 12,000 bottles/hr.
