Trikon Announces Sale of Delta DCVD Equipment to WIN Semiconductors Corporation.

NEWPORT, Wales There are two well-known places named Newport in Wales:
  • City of Newport
  • Town of Newport, Pembrokeshire
, United Kingdom -- Trikon Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:TRKN), today announced the receipt of a repeat order for a Delta(R) CVD CVD Cardiovascular disease, see there  dielectric system from WIN Semiconductors Corporation, the world's leading pure-play GaAs foundry. This system will complement existing Trikon tools sited in WIN's 150mm production line in Taiwan and will be used for the production of HBT HBT Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor
HBT HyCult Biotechnology (Uden, The Netherlands)
HBT Hanbury-Brown-Twiss (interferometer)
HBT Herring Bone Twill
HBT Heflex Bioengineering Test
, pHEMT and mHEMT GaAs products.

"We partnered with WIN when they first opened their foundry in 1999 and congratulate them on their success," said Andy Noakes, Senior Vice President Sales, Europe and Asia. "The last two years have been difficult for the GaAs industry but WIN have built on their reputation and technology to turn themselves into the world's leading pure-play GaAs foundry. In common with our other compound customers, they are seeing growth from the consumer communication sector, driven by demand for 3G and camera enabled handsets; and the WLAN See wireless LAN.

market, driven by the application of WiFi and others."

Mr. J.M. Lee, VP of Wafer Fabrication Division at WIN, commented, "When we opened our foundry, we chose Trikon for three device critical steps based on data, Trikon's reputation and their commitment to our business; the success of that decision is confirmed by this new order to Trikon. The foundry model needs vendors to be flexible and ready to adapt to new demands from WIN, plus have a solid reputation that our customers will trust. Trikon is such a partner and we look forward to continuing the relationship."
