, it falls to several indie movies to provide recognizable slices of contemporary lesbian and gay life. In Trick, a hit at the Sundance Film Festival in January, a young Broadway composer named Gabriel spends one long night searching for a place to tryst with go-go boy Mark (John Paul Pitoc John Paul Pitoc (born March 5, 1974), also credited as Jean Paul Pitoc or J. Christian Campbell plays tres gai Gabriel--and the actor, who's straight, is already tired of the press asking stupid questions: "I've played murderers and rapists, and no one asks me if I had a reluctance playing those kinds of parts. Lesbian lovers take center stage in Better Than Chocolate, a Canadian film in which Karyn Dwyer must hide her burgeoning romance with Christina Cox from her mom and brother, who have just moved in with her. Compassion!' s John Benjamin Hickey) becomes the object of Wendy Makkena's affections as the two unlikely traveling companions find themselves on a Texas road trip.
