LLC - Logical Link Control and president of the American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA New York State, has been honored by her peers in his home state. The AIAToledo, represented by chapter president Paul R. Sullivan Jr., AIA, granted the Ohio native son a special citation for Service and Leadership to the Profession at a reception held in his honor at the Toledo Hilton. The citation commended O'Neal noting "through his efforts and guidance the profession has benefited and grown." The tribute was part of a ceremonial tribute presented by a diverse group of over 30 public officials, educators and other leading representatives from throughout the state. O'Neal is the first African American to be elected president of the American Institute of Architects New York State (AIANYS). The Cleveland-born architect lived, studied and worked in Toledo throughout his youth and early adulthood. Steven Fong, Ph.D., dean of the College of Architecture from Kent State University, praised the KSU graduate's commitment to involving architects in public policy saying, "We teach that architects should be committed leaders in their communities. Terrence has accomplished that. He has demonstrated values we have tried to have our students and graduates understand. He has made his alma mater proud." Among the many other accolades and honors granted were a proclamation from Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner; a citation from the Toledo City Council; a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur; citations issued by the Ohio House of Representatives Ohio has a bicameral legislature, the Ohio General Assembly, consisting a House of Representatives and Senate (the Ohio State Senate), based on its constitution of 1851. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3 1803, under the later superseded constitution from the Hon. Edna Brown and the Hon. Mark D. Wagoner, Jr.; a Certificate of Honor from Friends of Lathrop House (a stop on the underground railroad in Toledo); and a certificate from Jack and Jill of America calling O'Neal "an inspiration to African American youth." O'Neal was honored by the U.S. General Services Administration The General Services Administration (GSA) was established by section 101 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C.A. § 751). The GSA sets policy for and manages government property and records. and received a special Architecture as Public Policy Citation from the AIA New York Chapter in June 2006. He has taught at Pratt Institute and the New York Institute of Technology The function of higher education was highly debated at the time. There was growing concern that American schools and colleges were failing to meet critical national demands, particularly the need for scientists, engineers, and high-level technicians. ; has served on design juries for Pratt Institute, the New York School New York school Painters who participated in the development of contemporary art, particularly Abstract Expressionism, in or around New York City in the 1940s and '50s. of Interior Design, and NY Construction magazine's Best of 2006 Awards, and recently chaired the AIA Maryland 2006 Design Awards Jury.
