Tribeca's gay harvest: the New York City film festival, April 25-May 7, covers the queer waterfront from sexy boys to drag divas to 9/11.


Actor-playwright Charles Busch (Die, Mommie, Die!) sure knows how to wear a wig. So he decided to try out a new hat--that of a feature film director--with his latest project, A Very Serious Person.  at the Tribeca Film Festival, the coming-of-age dramedy revolves around a 13-year-old emerging gay boy who finds a close friend in Jan (played by Busch), a much older male nurse. But while Busch donned the director's hat off-camera, he stuck to wigs--toupees, actually--when appearing onscreen on·screen or on-screen

Those jonesing for a fix of cute gay boys will certainly find them on Tribeca's screens. Q. Allan Brocka's Boy Culture involves a sexy young hustler who begins to comprehend love thanks to an elderly client. Todd Stephens's Another Gay Movie (pictured) gays up the American Pie-style raunchy raun·chy
