TriQuint Named World's Largest Compound Semiconductor Foundry in New Strategy Analytics Report.

TriQuint's Wide Range of GaAs Technologies Cater to Both High Volume and High Value Wireless Applications

HILLSBORO, Ore. -- TriQuint Semiconductor (Nasdaq:TQNT), a leading RF front-end product manufacturer and foundry services provider, was named the world's largest Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) foundry in a report issued by Strategy Analytics this week. According to the report, TriQuint market segment share for the year ending 2006 was estimated at 40%, nearly double that of its nearest competitor. GaAs technology is optimal for making components to serve both high volume markets, such as the cellular handset and Wi-Fi wireless network devices, as well as lower volume high-end wafers for infrastructure markets or specialized communications.

The new Strategy Analytics report summarizing 2006 states that "TriQuint is the largest supplier of GaAs foundry services and has a wide range of processes that can cater to both high volume and high value services. TriQuint is also one of the largest suppliers to the military markets... We believe that TriQuint will continue to be the world's largest GaAs foundry in 2007."
