Trei Wild - National Association of Health Underwriters President Receives the Hollis Roberson Award; An award named in honor of his father.

DALLAS -- Trei Wild, of Safeguard Dental, recently received the coveted Hollis Roberson Award at the Texas Association of Health Underwriter's Annual Convention in Sugar Land, Texas. Hollis Roberson, CLU, FMLI, RHU was truly a Texas legend whose accomplishments would fill many volumes, having worked tirelessly in the insurance industry for 34 years. His work with the National and Texas Associations of Health Underwriters is memorialized each year with TAHU's top honor - The Hollis Roberson Award. Hollis supported all forms of professional development, especially the earning of industry designations.

Trei Wild was recognized for this award for the many years he contributed his time and talent to further the health insurance industry. His membership in the Health Underwriters Association clearly demonstrated his leadership ability while he served as President of the Dallas Association, President of the Texas Association and currently President of the National Association, which encompasses more than 20,000 members.

"The judges felt that Trei Wild clearly demonstrated the leadership and dedication that this award was designed to recognize," said Linda New, President of the Texas Association of Health Underwriters. "With over 15 years of membership, professional leadership, legislative activism, community coaching and involvement with innumerable fundraising activities Trei Wild have proven his commitment to and passion for the insurance industry. He has been a clear winner of this award for several years but he would not allow the Board to consider him for the award until he completed his leadership role within the association. However, the membership decided to surprise him with the award this year before he would expect it."

Several association members commented that the award ceremony was especially momentous this year because Trei Wild is the stepson of Hollis Roberson. Hollis died in 1989 just months before becoming national president of the association and Trei received this prestigious honor as NAHU president.
