Trax Softworks Inc. releases version 2.1a of TeamTalk.


LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1997--Trax Softworks Inc. announced the availability of version 2.1a of TeamTalk, its discussion and collaboration product.

This new version includes support for Microsoft Windows See Windows.

 in NT is now supported for the E-Mail Link. This facilitates the exchange of TeamTalk attachments between databases. In addition, TeamTalk now offers both 16- and 32-bit native versions in a single package. Database modifications include increased record lengths and stabilization.

A localized Japanese version is available with this new release.

A simple database conversion (program included with the upgrade package) is required for sites updating from version 2.0 but not from 2.1. There is no charge for customers who have purchased within the past 90 days. Those on version 2.0 can upgrade for $20 per client license, while sites that have earlier versions can obtain it for $30 per client license.

A new copy of TeamTalk is $59 per client license.

TeamTalk is a network-based group-discussion system that allows group members to communicate electronically on a variety of topics. Each topic supports a separate member list and customizable attributes. As comments are added, members are notified and can review comments and add their views at any time.

TeamTalk's built-in E-Mail Link supports WANs and remote users via any MAPI- or VIM-compatible mail system, including Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox. , cc:Mail and Lotus Notes Messaging and groupware software from IBM Lotus that was introduced in 1989 for OS/2 and later expanded to Windows, Mac, Unix, NetWare, AS/400 and S/390. Notes provides e-mail, document sharing, workflow, group discussions and calendaring and scheduling. .

TeamTalk runs on any network that supports file sharing Copying files from one computer to another. NetWare uses the IPX/SPX, NetBEUI or TCP/IP network protocols. It supports MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, OS/2, Macintosh and Unix clients.
