Travelers Group Selects New Advertising Agency.

) announced today that it has selected New York-based Merkley Newman Harty as its advertising agency of record, to handle creative development and media placement for the company's new advertising campaign. The size of the campaign was not disclosed.

Merkley Newman Harty, a division of Omnicom, will have responsibility for Travelers Group's corporate image advertising, and trade advertising for Travelers Life & Annuity and Travelers Property Casualty Corp. -- two of Travelers Group's insurance subsidiaries. Advertising for the company's Salomon Smith Barney Smith Barney is a division of Citigroup Global Capital Markets Inc., a global, full-service financial firm, that provides brokerage, investment banking and asset management services to corporations, governments and individuals around the world.  unit will continue to be handled by McCann-Erickson.
