Travel passes to protect children travelling in West Africa. (World's Children).


GENEVA -- In a move aimed at stemming child slavery slavery, institution based on a relationship of dominance and submission, whereby one person owns another and can exact from that person labor or other services. , six West African West Africa

 countries have devised a travel pass to protect children traveling in the region, officials said Saturday. UNICEF UNICEF (y`nĭsĕf'), the United Nations Children's Fund, an affiliated agency of the United Nations.  estimates more than 200,000 children last year fell victim to trafficking and exploitation in West and Central Africa.

The travel document, to enter into force July 1 in Niger, Benin, Burkina Faso Burkina Faso (burkē`nə fä`sō), republic (2005 est. pop. 13,925,000), 105,869 sq mi (274,200 sq km), W Africa. It borders on Mali in the west and north, on Niger in the northeast, on Benin in the southeast, and on Togo, Ghana, and , Togo, Cote d'Ivoire and Mali, will confirm the names of the adult traveling with a child and the adult providing shelter at the child's destination.
