Passports soon to be needed for Canada, Mexico, Caribbean. New laws will require U.S. travelers traveling by air or sea to the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada to have passports starting Jan. 1. The laws are intended to make it harder for terrorists to enter the U.S. Some lawmakers and travel organizations want to delay implementation for a few years and find an alternative system for U.S./Canadian border crossings.
