Manpads

Low-tech, low-cost Manpads present helicopter defense dilemma. Heat-seeking man-portable air defense systems are a major threat to helicopters in Iraq and elsewhere. Defense officials admit helicopter defenses against these Manpads, which can cost as little as $500 each, are not always effective.
