Transportation Will Be Provided to Council for World-Class Communities Luncheon; Pick-up is Available From Benton Harbor City Hall and Mercy Center.

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2003

The Council for World-Class Communities has announced that free transportation will be provided to its July 30 Community Leadership Luncheon. Dial-a-Ride buses will be picking up residents from two locations, Benton Harbor City Hall and Mercy Center.

Julian Bond, chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, will be the guest speaker at the July 30 luncheon. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at Lake Michigan College's Mendel Center.

"We want to make this event open to as many people as possible," said Mark Mitchell, the CWCC's president and executive director. "Not everyone in our communities has transportation to get to our luncheons. We are listening to the needs of our residents, and we are looking into other ways to meet the transportation needs in our communities."

Three buses will be available to transport residents. The Benton Harbor City Hall pick-up will be at 10:45 a.m., and transportation from Mercy Center will leave at 11:00 a.m. The luncheon is free; however, residents should call the CWCC at 269-934-9286 to make reservations. General seating is available, and the doors will open at 11:00 a.m.

Benton Harbor City Hall is located at 300 Wall Street. Mercy Center is located at 960 Agard Avenue.
