Transport fares reduced in Federal Capital: NA informed.ISLAMABAD -- The National Assembly resumed its session here on Friday with Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in the chair.The Advisor on Industries Muhammad Basharat Raja told the National Assembly during question hour that the government was considering to give more incentives for investment in manufacturing of cars in the country to meet the requirements. He said talks were held with delegations of Korean Company and General Motors and hoped for positive results. He said presently 150000 cars are being manufactured in the country and 50000 are being imported annually which are not sufficient to meet requirements. Minister of State for Interior Ch. Imtiaz Safdar Warraich told the House that public transport fares have been reduced in the Federal Capital following the reduction in oil and gas prices and notification to this effect has been issued. He was responding to a call attention notice by Nosheen Saeed and others regarding charging high fares from commuters instead of new fares by the transporters in Islamabad. The Minister of State for Interior said checking is being carried out and action is being taken against those charging high fares. He said in this connection 28 vehicles have been challenged in two weeks.
