Transport fares reduced in Federal Capital: NA informed.

ISLAMABAD -- The National Assembly resumed its session here on Friday with Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in the chair.

The Advisor on Industries Muhammad Basharat Raja told the National Assembly during question hour that the government was considering to give more incentives for investment in manufacturing of cars in the country to meet the requirements.

He said talks were held with delegations of Korean Company and General Motors and hoped for positive results. He said presently 150000 cars are being manufactured in the country and 50000 are being imported annually which are not sufficient to meet requirements.

Minister of State for Interior Ch. Imtiaz Safdar Warraich told the House that public transport fares have been reduced in the Federal Capital following the reduction in oil and gas prices and notification to this effect has been issued.

He was responding to a call attention notice by Nosheen Saeed and others regarding charging high fares from commuters instead of new fares by the transporters in Islamabad.

The Minister of State for Interior said checking is being carried out and action is being taken against those charging high fares. He said in this connection 28 vehicles have been challenged in two weeks.

He said Punjab government The Government of Punjab, is the supreme governing authority of the Indian state of Punjab (India) and its 20 districts. It consists of an excecutive, led by the Governor of Punjab, a judiciary and a legislative.  and Rawalpindi Transport Authority is responsible to check public transport routes from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

The National Assembly passed "The Special Economic Zones Bill, 2012". It provides for setting up and operation of special economic zones in the country. The bill was already passed by the Senate.

The bill was moved by Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Ahmad Khurshīd Ahmad (Urdu: خورشید احمد, also known as Professor Khurshid) (March 23, 1932 in Delhi - ) is a scholar, economist, writer, and Islamic activist.  Shah Shah is a Persian term for a monarch (ruler) that has been adopted in many other languages. This term is a Post Islamic Revolution term for monarchs in Iran which is replaced by valie faghih or Supreme Leader. .

The National Assembly also passed "The Medical and Dental Council Dental Council may refer to:
  • Dental Council of India, a 1948 establishment
  • General Dental Council, a United Kingdom organisation which regulates all dental professionals in the country
  • Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, a Pakistan federal department
 Bill, 2012" as passed by the Senate. The House rejected the amendments by opposition member Dr. Nelson Azeem.

The bill was moved by Yasmeen Rehman.
