UBi - U/BL Browser browser Software that allows a computer user to find and view information on the Internet. The first text-based browser for the World Wide Web became available in 1991; Web use expanded rapidly after the release in 1993 of a browser called Mosaic, which used Interface, and FBi - FlexGen Browser Interface, enable users to immediately make use of a browser interface, without having to re-develop their applications. Both U/BL and FlexGen have provided a GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface. look and feel for many years, but with the release of UBi and FBi, existing systems can now automatically be presented through a browser interface. A browser interface provides 'thin client' deployment options, with no software installed on the user's client-side PC. This reduces hardware costs and software administration costs, and provides new deployment options for existing applications. The UBi and FBi products allow the application to continue to run with a character interface or a GUI interface, using the Transoft U/Gi product for U/BL and FronTier product for FlexGen.
