Transcepta LLC, a provider of hosted electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP) solutions, has launched its EIPP service for distributors. Called Transcepta Distributor Edition, the new offering addresses the needs of distributors, who typically send more invoices per dollar of revenue than any other industry.

Transcepta Distributor Edition is a hosted solution for the complete management of sending invoices and processing electronic payments. Accessed over the Web, the new service enables distribution companies to send invoices electronically, via post or fax, as well as receive payments by ACH or credit card.

Transcepta matches remittance advice of all incoming payments with the correct invoices. Outbound invoices and incoming payments can be imported directly into an accounting system as well. Transcepta "is able to leverage virtually any invoice format and works in conjunction with any accounting system without requiring system integration," the Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based company said in an announcement.

Since distributors usually have thin margins and little time for IT projects, Transcepta offers a compelling alternative to the manual nature of internally printing, stuffing and mailing paper invoices. It can be implemented over the Web in less than a day, the company says, as opposed to conventional approaches that call for the purchase and onsite integration of complicated software packages--integrated into the distributor's accounting system--which can require substantial capital investment and IT resources.

In addition to reducing costs, improving cash flow and increasing invoice delivery quality, Transcepta Distributor Edition improves customer relationships as it provides insight into customer trends, as well as the ability to dynamically release customers from credit hold, the company says.
