TransMontaigne Inc. Appoints Wayne W. Murdy to Its Board.

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 2003

TransMontaigne (AMEX:TMG) has appointed Wayne W. Murdy to its Board of Directors. Mr. Murdy is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Denver-based Newmont Mining Corporation, the world's largest gold producer.

Mr. Murdy is a Director of Tom Brown, Inc., a U.S.-based natural gas producer. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Denver Art Museum, the Governor's Commission on Science and Technology, and is an Ambassador of the Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust. Mr. Murdy is also a Director of the National Mining Association and Vice Chairman of the World Gold Council.

Prior to joining Newmont in 1992, Mr. Murdy spent 15 years in senior financial positions in the oil and gas industry, first with Getty Oil Company, then Western Crude Oil, Inc. following its acquisition by Getty in 1980, and later with Apache Corporation. He began his business career with Arthur Andersen LLC in their Los Angeles office from 1969 to 1978. A graduate of California State University at Long Beach, Mr. Murdy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.

TransMontaigne also announced that its annual shareholders meeting will be held on March 11, 2004, in Denver, Colorado. TransMontaigne also announced that it had updated its Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended June 30, 2003, to include certain proxy statement disclosures.

TransMontaigne Inc. is a refined petroleum products distribution and supply company based in Denver, Colorado with operations in the United States, primarily in the Gulf Coast, Midwest and East Coast regions.
