TransCore and Telenor Satellite Services Sign International Distribution Agreement for TransCore's GlobalWave Asset Tracking Products.

Agreement Expands Distribution of TransCore's Asset Tracking Capabilities via Satellite throughout Europe

HARRISBURG, Pa. & OSLO, Norway -- TransCore and Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Telenor ASA of Norway (Oslo Stock Exchange:TEL and Nasdaq:TELN), have signed a five-year agreement for Telenor to serve as a distributor of TransCore's GlobalWave[R] asset tracking products throughout Europe.

This multi-year agreement with Telenor further expands TransCore satellite offerings within the international market. The service uses Inmarsat satellite capacity provided by Telenor Satellite Services to TransCore.

The combination of this established network and GlobalWave product offerings makes solutions readily available to the European community and provides a software developer's toolbox to create market-specific tracking and asset management applications.

Launched in 1999, the satellite-based GlobalWave communications system allows users to monitor, manage, track and communicate with remote and mobile assets from a Web site interface. With four ground control stations providing service to five continents, the GlobalWave network supports more than 75,000 users worldwide.

In late 2005, following an extensive research and development (R&D) effort, TransCore introduced a smaller, faster, more power efficient, and compelling value proposition for satellite-based asset tracking technology. At the heart of these innovations was a new core modem that reduces the size of communication terminals and extends battery life from the usual three years to over five years, doubling the battery life of trailer tracking products on the market.

The GlobalWave mobile data communication terminals allow short control or text messages to be sent between a central location and dispersed mobile assets over a satellite network. Fleet operators interact with their tagged assets using familiar computer programs and interfaces. The base terminal is the tracking-only solution. The sensor-enabled terminal may be used in conjunction with a wide range of GlobalWave sensors for remote, up-to-date access to information such as loaded/empty status, cargo temperature, tire inflation status and other critical data.

The terminals are very low-profile and designed to become an integral part of the asset for an inconspicuous appearance not easily noticed by those who might tamper with the devices. These terminals will also withstand extreme weather conditions for external mounting. The geographic location of either type of terminal can be determined by GlobalWave's integrated GPS. All operating characteristics can be modified remotely via this system such as reporting interval and enabling/disabling features such as door alarms.
