IXOS Software, Inc., subsidiary of IXOS SOFTWARE AG (NASDAQ: "XOSY", NEUER MARKT: "XOS"), a worldwide leading provider of solutions for the management of eBusiness documents in inter-enterprise system environments, announced today that TransAlta, Canada's largest non-regulated electric generation and marketing company, has selected IXOS as an imaging and archiving solution for its accounts payable invoices and journal vouchers. The company chose IXOS because of its product functionality and its seamless integration with SAP.

TransAlta will use IXOS-eCONtext in the Accounts Payable department at its headquarters in Calgary to image and archive 300,000 documents annually - including invoices, journal vouchers and personal expense reports. With IXOS, employees that regularly need access to these documents will be able to immediately view them from their desktops.

Currently TransAlta's database is about 100 gigabytes and is growing at about 30 gigs per year. TransAlta will use IXOS-eCONserver for data archiving to ensure optimum system performance.
