TradeFair Group acquires "Power" magazine from Platts & launches "Coal Power".


TradeFair Group, Inc. (Houston, TX), a company that produces events and publications for the energy and industrial marketplaces, has acquired "Power" magazine, a business and technology title for the global power generation industry, from Platts (New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
), a unit of McGraw-Hill Companies (New York). No terms of the deal were given.

"Power" was launched in 1882 and is published nine times a year for a controlled circulation of 62,000 presidents, owners, partners, general managers, engineers and supervisors of the engineering, operations and maintenance departments of power and energy entities. Those entities include steam and/or electric generation facilities, including electric utilities, manufacturing and process plants, independent power and cogeneration plants, waste energy plants, commercial and institutional plants, as well as industry consulting, design and engineering firms.

Content includes information, news and analysis on the latest techniques and trends in plant operations and maintenance, as well as new technologies and equipment for generating electricity. Editorial also covers industry M&A activity, litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. Also, TradeFair has launched "Coal Power," a quarterly magazine that is tag-lined "The Magazine for Coal Fired Geneeration."
