Trade shows offer opportunity for networking and marketing.

On Wednesday, September 17, 1997, the New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM), the leading property management organization in New York, will host its ninth annual trade show, the NY-ARM Real Estate Expo '97.

To be held at the Exhibition Hall at Madison Square Garden, 33rd Street and Seventh Avenue, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., this one day event has grown and thrived through the years and continues to attract members of the real estate industry, who are admitted free with pre-registration.

Visiting an industry trade show is probably the most effective networking vehicle available to the professional real estate manager. Here, under one roof and in just a few hours, you can view the latest services, technologies and merchandise in the marketplace, speak with representatives of these companies and receive expert advice and instruction in their use and application. It is also the perfect opportunity to network with your peers, exchanging ideas and information.

As education is NYARM's main tenet, two informative seminars will be presented at the show. The 10 a.m. morning forum, "Dealing With Employee Discrimination Claims," is a unique opportunity to learn, first-hand from a group of noted panelists, what can be done to avoid discrimination lawsuits and present a winning argument.

At 2 p.m., an informal, roundtable discussion entitled "Conflict and Resolution: How To Deal With Your Residents" will be presented. This fun-filled program gives the manager the opportunity to "dish the dirt" with colleagues and learn how to cope with on-the-job situations, and learn how to deal effectively and solve problems with your residents.

On September 24th, Patricia Grayson, Outreach Coordinator for NYC's Department of Sanitation, returns to NYARM to explain the latest recycling laws in her unique, humorous manner.
