The San Francisco Bay Area, colloquially known as the Bay Area or The Bay
 and Sacramento, Calif. The 37,000 square foot Center, an interdisciplinary arts facility containing two theaters and nine studio classrooms in addition to the fine arts gallery, will open in September 2007.

Proposals are open to all media including installation, new media and performance art. Work must have been completed in the past three years unless part of a thematic grouping or historical collection. There are no geographic restrictions.

Artists may also submit proposals for new works, providing samples of representative work. As the Gallery is part of a larger interdisciplinary arts center fostering community involvement and lifelong learning Lifelong learning is the concept that "It's never too soon or too late for learning", a philosophy that has taken root in a whole host of different organisations. Lifelong learning is attitudinal; that one can and should be open to new ideas, decisions, skills or behaviors. , demonstration, residency, outreach, and workshop options are encouraged.
