Toyota to Back Environmental Activities by China's Youth.


Tokyo, Japan, July 29, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Toyota Motor announced on July 26 that the Beijing-based All-China Youth Federation The All-China Youth Federation is an organization founded in 1949 that represents many youth groups in China, notably including the Communist Youth League of China. Current Chinese president Hu Jintao and former president Jiang Zemin were both members.  and Toyota have jointly created a program in Beijing to aid environmental protection.

Named the Toyota Environmental Protection Aid Program for China's Youth, the program will receive 3.5 million yuan Yuan (yüän), river, 540 mi (869 km) long, rising in S Guizhou prov. and flowing generally NE to Donting lake, Hunan prov., SE China. Navigation above Changde is limited by rapids to small craft.  ($443,734) from Toyota every year for the next three years.

The program will solicit written proposals for environmental protection activities from China's youth. A panel of environmental experts will screen the applications and choose 11 winners, which will be awarded grants to implement their proposals and study trips to Japan.
