Toyota Industries Develops Fuel Cell Forklift.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 15, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Toyota Industries Toyota Industries Corporation (豊田自動織機, Toyota Jidō Shokki) TYO: 6201 is a Japanese machine maker, founded in 1926 by Sakichi Toyoda, it was originally called Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, Ltd.  Corporation developed jointly with Toyota Motor a fuel cell hybrid system A hybrid system is a dynamic system that exhibits both continuous and discrete dynamic behavior — a system that can both flow (described by a differential equation) and jump (described by a difference equation).  for use in forklifts. Also the hybrid system is to be mounted on fuel cell forklift, TOYOTA FCHV-F, which will be exhibited on CeMAT, the world's leading trade fair for intralogistics, held in Hannover, Germany, from October 11 to 15.

Featured are electric double-layer capacitors adopted to operate efficiently the fuel cell, despite interruptions in current input and output occurring due to forklift's frequent starting and stoppage. The product reliability has been ensured by utilizing Toyota's high-performance fuel cell, TOYOTA FC Stack, as well as components for use in fuel cell vehicles
