Toyota Finance to Participate in ETC System Test Project under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.Tokyo, Japan, Oct 15, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - From November 2005, Toyota Finance will join the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport in its test on ETC ETC - ExTendible Compiler. Using a modified 802.11a technology for North American cars and trucks, DSRC is designed for several applications. (Dedicated Short Range Communication) technologies to be applied in entrance/exit through an automatic gate bar and cashless settlement for parking fees. To collect data for verification, monitors will be asked to drive current popular ETC-equipped cars. The test operations will be conducted in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.
