1. Tires

Net sales within the tire segment increased by 8,608 million yen to 58,468 million yen (up 17.3% compared to the same period of fiscal 2006). Sales of original equipment tires fell below the levels of the same quarter of the previous year due to decreased production of car models equipped with Toyo's products. In the domestic market, despite slow domestic demand, vigorous efforts to boost sales resulted in sales equivalent to the levels of the same period of the previous year.
