) - Toyama Chemical has signed a licensing agreement with Dong-A Pharmaceutical of Korea on T-3811, Toyama Chemical's proprietary quinolone-type synthetic antibacterial antibacterial /an·ti·bac·te·ri·al/ (-bak-ter´e-al) destroying or suppressing growth or reproduction of bacteria; also, an agent that does this.

Under the agreement terms, Dong-A will exclusively develop, manufacture and market T-3811 in Korea. Accordingly, Toyama Chemical will receive an upfront payment and royalties from Dong-A.

Also, Toyama Chemical will supply the agent and bulk compounds to Dong-A. T-3811, which has a wide antibacterial spectrum, has beneficial effects on gram-positive bacteria including penicillin-resistant pneumococcus pneumococcus
