) - Toyama Chemical has filed a new drug application for T-3811, its proprietary antibiotic agent, with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

A new-type quinolone antibiotic, T-3811 has a wide antibacterial spectrum and beneficial effects on PRSPuiPenicillin-resistant Streptococcus streptococcus (strĕp'təkŏk`əs), any of a group of gram-positive bacteria, genus Streptococcus, some of which cause disease.  pneumoniaeujand MRSA MRSA Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Upon receiving approval, Toyama Chemical will collaborate with Taisho Pharmaceutical, Taisho Toyama Chemical and Astellas Pharma to promote the agent.
