Town gets its Wishlist.

What started out as an effort to fill a fashion void has blossomed into a successful chain of stores for Westport-based Wishlist, which has opened at 1101 Boston Post Road The Boston Post Road was a system of roads from New York City to Boston, Massachusetts, containing some of the first major highways in the United States. It began as a path to deliver the post using post riders (the first ride to lay out the Upper Post Road starting January 22,  in Darien, CT.

The new address represents the fourth store for the retailer started eight years ago by partners, Carla Strobel and Suzanne Zarrilli.

It was the lack of selection for their own children that sparked Strobel and Zarrilli to open the first Wishlist in Westport eight years ago.

The two took matters into their own hands. The decision to open the 1,150 s/f store in Darien was based on competition, said Strobel, noting that "someone was going to open a store in that market, it may as well be us. The new store compliments our locations in Greenwich and Westport."

Wishlist also recently opened a sister store in New Haven New Haven, city (1990 pop. 130,474), New Haven co., S Conn., a port of entry where the Quinnipiac and other small rivers enter Long Island Sound; inc. 1784. Firearms and ammunition, clocks and watches, tools, rubber and paper products, and textiles are among the many  and is eyeing potential locations in Fairfield.

For all of its locations, including the newest store in Darien, Wishlist worked exclusively with James Ritman, director at Newmark Knight Frank offices in Greenwich. "Jim has been unbelievable," said Strobel. "He has helped with the permit process, town hall meetings, even introducing us to the communities."

Ritman acted quickly once Strobel and Zarrilli spotted the 1101 address, noting that he quickly began researching the site. Working with Newmark Knight Frank principal, Gil Ohls, Ritman said the owner was not just looking for Looking for
