Tourists inspired to head for West Mids; Business Report.A NEW tourism PR campaign has been launched by Advantage West Midlands West Midlands, former metropolitan county, central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Birmingham conurbation and comprised seven metropolitan districts: Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Birmingham, Solihull, aiming to attract more visitors to the Heart of England. McCann is a subsidiary of the Interpublic Group of Companies PR, A Celebration of Imagination marks the important anniversaries and events taking place in the region throughout 2009. It also aims to raise awareness of the region's heritage and drive day trip visits throughout the region. The campaign not only focuses on the exciting programme of celebratory events, but also aims to drive additional visits to the wider array of attractions that the region has to offer, including everything from Shakespeare to Doctor Who and Theme Parks to historical buildings.
