Summary: The number of foreign tourists visiting Morocco in the first six months of 2009 was up nine percent, compared to the same period last year.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Morocco in the first six months of 2009 was up nine percent, compared to the same period last year. The Ministry of Tourism, in a statement issued on Friday, said that the number of foreign tourists during the said period stood at some 3.5 million, at an increase of 37,000. It said the French accounted for the greatest number of foreign tourists, followed by the Spanish, and then the Belgians.
