CARLSBAD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 1999--McHenry Metals Golf Corp. (OTCBB:GLFN), scored its first tour victory of the 1999 season as Curt Byrum used the TourPure driver this past weekend to win the $225,000 Nike South Florida Classic in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Hours later, McHenry Metals staff player Fred Funk completed the PGA Tour's $2.6 million Mercedes Championship in Maui, Hawaii with a top 5 finish.

At the PGA Tour's Mercedes Championship, which was televised on ESPN, Funk was paired in the final two-some with eventual winner, David Duval. Funk, who has increased his distance off the tee since switching to the TourPure driver in early 1998, shot a 15-under par 277 to tie for fifth with Tiger Woods and Justin Leonard, one stroke ahead of Davis Love III.
