) from BP Amoco Polymers, Inc., Alpharetta, Ga., offer improved toughness and ductility ductility, ability of a metal to plastically deform without breaking or fracturing, with the cohesion between the molecules remaining sufficient to hold them together (see adhesion and cohesion). Ductility is important in wire drawing and sheet stamping. The metal must neither break nor be scraped off during these processes. Platinum, steel, copper, and tungsten have high ductility.. They are aimed at electrical connectors and fuel-delivery components.

* Amodel AT-1002 HS is an unfilled, toughened grade said to offer high impact at low temperatures and retain its properties after exposure to humid thermal aging. Notched Izod impact values are 1.5 ftlb/in, at room temperature and 1.2 ftlb/in at -40 F, which compare with 0.8 and 0.2-0.3 ft-lb/in., respectively for PBT, according to EP Amoco.

* Amodel AT-6115 HS is a toughened, 15%-glass grade with improved ductility and greater elongation (3.54%) than other reinforced PPA grades with similar glass loading.
