Touched by an angel. (People).Greg Henson has more than one reason to thank Sharon Stone this Valentine's Day. Not only did the gay-friendly diva officiate at the November commitment ceremony in which Henson married his partner, Jeff Brooks, but Henson believes she was instrumental in helping him recover from skin cancer. Henson, an interior designer who owns an upscale home furnishings store in San Francisco, was recovering from an operation to remove a malignant polyp from his face two years ago when the actress met him while shopping in his store. "She said, `Wow, what happened to you?'" Henson recalls. "We got to talking, and she performed reiki reiki /rei·ki/ (ra´ke) [Japanese] a healing tradition of Eastern origin whose purpose is to rebalance the complex energy systems that compose the body when they have become out of balance, using channeling of energy from an unlimited universal energy source through the hands of the practitioner. [a New Age method that uses personal energy to heal] on me right there in the store. And you know what? It worked." It was a bonding experience, and Henson says that when he and Brooks decided to get married, Stone was a natural choice to officiate the ceremony. "If it hadn't been for her, I might not be alive today," says Henson. "We have a lot to thank her for." |
