Toshiba announces multi-function projector for premium presentations.Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. and provider of industry-leading portable computers, projectors and other mobile-related services and products, has launched the TDP-TW300U projector with wireless capabilities, offering vibrant images, network management functionality, security features and a range of connectivity options. Designed for presentations in auditoriums, lecture halls and large conference rooms, the TDP-TW300U delivers extraordinary performance and an exceptionally high level of brightness with its DLP (Digital Light Processing) A data projection technology from TI that produces clear, readable images on screens in lit rooms. DLP is used in all types of projection devices, from data projectors that weigh only a few pounds to large rear-projection TVs to electronic (digital light processing) technology, including 3,000 ANSI lumens, a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and a native 1,024 x 768 XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K. resolution. The product is priced at $3,199. Special features throughout include integrated IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields. 802.11b/g wireless functionality that delivers fast set-up time and enables presenters to connect to the projector from anywhere in the room and deliver sequential presentations without the need for cables; an auto focus and ultra-wide 1.5x motorized mo·tor·ize tr.v. mo·tor·ized, mo·tor·iz·ing, mo·tor·iz·es 1. "Corporations, educational institutions, houses of worship and other large organizations will especially appreciate the multi-functionality and premium display features of the TDP-TW300U," said Alex Ijuin, assistant general manager for Toshiba DPD's Projector Business Unit of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. "Toshiba has spent a lot of attention to detail to offer an innovative yet easy-to-use product that is very competitively priced." The TDP-TW300U's network capabilities allow IT administrators to receive e-mail notification via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc. (Simple Network Management Protocol) of projector status. Tasks such as self-diagnosis, monitoring input status and checking lamp life to expedite bulb replacement can all be performed quickly and easily via remote network management. The projector integrates data, video and audio features necessary for high-end multimedia presentations. For increased flexibility, the TDP-TW300U includes three computer inputs, which are comprised of one RGB (Red Green Blue) The computer's native color space, which is the color system for capturing and displaying images. RGB was derived from our own perception of color because human eyes are sensitive to red, green and blue (see trichromaticity). 15-pin, one five-pin BNC (hardware) BNC - A connector for coaxial cable such as that used for some video connections and RG58 "cheapernet" connections. A BNC connector has a bayonet-type shell with two small knobs on the female connector which lock into spiral slots in the male connector when it is twisted and one DVI. Other connectivity features include two video inputs for composite, one S-video, three component video inputs (shared with computer inputs), two four-watt stereo speakers, one type A USB port and LAN connectivity. Five audio-in ports allow users to connect to multiple audio sources, while the variable audio-out allows remote audio control of external speakers. |
