Toshiba Supports Educational Symposia on the Latest CT and MRI Developments at Snowmass 2005.

," an educational symposia held in Snowmass Village, Colo., Feb. 20-25, 2005. The conference features faculty from several of the country's leading medical institutions who will discuss a range of topics focused on the development and implementation of protocols for cardiology and radiology diagnostic imaging procedures.

El-Khoury, M.D., professor of radiology and orthopedics and chief, Musculoskeletal Section, Department of Radiology, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) is a 762-bed public teaching hospital and level 1 trauma center affiliated with the University of Iowa. The first faculty offered instruction at the University in March 1855 to students in the Old Mechanics Building, situated where Seashore Hall is now. In September 1855, the student body numbered 124, of which, 41 were women.

Dr. Awh is presenting on MRI of the foot, ankle, hand, wrist and knee. Dr. Dolmatch will discuss CT findings on the aorta and CTA of the lower extremity and measurements. Dr. El-Khoury will examine multislice CT of pelvic and acetabular acetabular /ac·e·tab·u·lar/ (as?e-tab´u-lar) pertaining to the acetabulum.

 fractures, imaging of upper extremity, cervical spine and thoraco-lumbar spine traumas. Dr. Feller is leading several sessions including topics on MRI of bone marrow, sports injuries of the shoulder and MRI of the hip.

Dr. Raptopoulos will be instructing attendees on his experience with MDCT in acute abdominal pain, MDCT of the liver and pancreas, CT colonography and CT angiography. Dr. Stanford will provide insights on the role of CT in cardiac imaging, epidemiology of heart disease and CT evaluation of pulmonary emboli emboli /em·bo·li/ (em´bo-li) plural of embolus.

. Dr. Winkler will discuss multi-detector MRI technology, patient-focused MRI, as well as MRI of the breast and MRI of the lumbar spine. Dr. Clouse will present on coronary artery calcification, CT coronary arteriography arteriography /ar·te·ri·og·ra·phy/ (ahr-ter?e-og´rah-fe) angiography of an artery or arterial system.
