). Designed specifically for cardiac imaging, Toshiba's C-panel FPD technology delivers high-resolution dynamic imaging for cardiovascular intervention and diagnostic exams, while also providing greater flexibility for dose reduction.

The C-panel FPD is a field-upgradeable component for Toshiba's Infinix(TM) CC-i System. The replacement of the standard imaging chain to the C-panel FPD by Toshiba service engineers takes about three days to complete.

market, Toshiba is improving the quality and efficiency of cardiac exams and patient care. The new C-panel flat-panel detector delivers images that are second to none with superior contrast and dynamic resolution," said Don Volz, director, Vascular X-ray Business Unit, Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. "Furthermore, since the Infinix system was designed to be upgradeable, our customers have an economical option to incorporate the latest FPD technology for enhanced cardiac imaging."

Unique Design Offers Superior Image Quality and Dose Reduction

With the new C-panel FPD, the Infinix CC-i offers a wide variety of frame rate options in both fluoro and record mode. This capability provides clinicians with greater flexibility for managing dose delivery to patients and staff while preserving dynamic imaging capabilities for superior image quality. In benchmarking studies against other flat-panel designs, the C-panel FPD and Infinix system outperformed all other systems with up to 20 percent dose reduction.

The Toshiba cardiac FPD also is uniquely designed with an eight-inch by eight-inch (20 cm x 20 cm) field-of-view for cardiac imaging procedures. Using this larger field-of-view, the Infinix CC-i has demonstrated enhanced clinical capabilities for left ventricular ven·tric·u·lar

"As the role of X-ray systems for cardiovascular interventional procedures has continued to evolve, there is an increased significance on fluoro performance as well as the importance of minimizing patient dose exposure," stated Volz. "The Infinix CC-i with the C-panel FPD allows clinicians to easily visualize minute details which increases precision and accuracy during interventional procedures for improved diagnosis."

About the Infinix-i Series

Toshiba's Infinix CC-i system is the industry's only vascular X-ray system truly field-upgradeable to FPD technology. This capability enables clinicians to expand the system and take advantage of second-generation FPD technology for superior image quality, while reducing upgrade costs.
