Toshiba Partners with Georgia Radiology Research and Educational Network to Provide ACC Level I and II, ACR Cardiac CT Accreditation Training.

TUSTIN, Calif. -- Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. has expanded its professional education and training offerings by partnering with Atlanta-based Georgia Radiology Research and Educational Network (GRREN). GRREN, with its Aquilion[TM] 64 CFX and state-of-the-art training center, will serve as Toshiba's newest site for American College of Cardiology (ACC) Level I and II, as well as ACR, cardiac CT accreditation training. As part of the educational program, physicians will view live and live feed broadcasts of cardiac exams using Toshiba's Aquilion 64 CFX advanced computed tomography (CT) system and experience hands on education using post-processing and advanced cardiac clinical analysis workstations provided by Vital Images.

Course objectives include:

* Familiarize participants with normal and variant anatomy of cardiac and vascular system.

* Identify and characterize disease in these systems and become acquainted with the impact on clinical decision-making.

* Learn technological advantages of multi-slice CT imaging in the evaluation of cardiac and vascular disease, including protocol optimization.

The comprehensive workshop will be held in a private-practice setting and is open to cardiologists as well as radiologists. Developed and conducted by highly qualified instructors, former Emory University Medical Center professors, the course is designed to meet the ACC Levels I and II, as well as ACR, training requirements through interaction with 150 studies. Competency is achieved through integration of didactic teaching, direct real-time case interaction, extensive clinical case review and supervised workstation experience for advanced cardiac multislice-CT applications.
