Toshiba Infinix DP-i/FD2 Debuts at ACC; New System Features Two Flat Panel Detectors for Improved Cardiac Imaging.

ATLANTA -- As a leading developer of technologies that improve the delivery of cardiac care, Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. (TAMS) is debuting its new Infinix(TM) DP-i/FD2 vascular X-ray system at the America College of Cardiology's (ACC See adaptive cruise control. ) 55th Annual Scientific Session in Atlanta, March 11-14, 2006. Designed as one system that operates like two, the Infinix DP-i/FD2 is equipped with two flat panel detectors (FPD (1) (Flat Panel Display) See LCD, plasma display, EL display, FED and flat panel display.

(2) (Field Programmable Device) An umbrella term for all chips that can be programmed by the customer including SPLDs, CPLDs and FPGAs. See PLD.
) and is the only single lab that meets ACC guidelines for both cardiac and peripheral work.

Designed with one eight-inch by eight-inch floor-mounted cardiac C-arm and one 12-inch by 16-inch ceiling mounted C-arm, the system enables physicians to obtain the high-quality images needed to perform both detailed peripheral vascular work and coronary studies without compromise for more efficient, comprehensive patient care. In addition, the system's design allows clinicians to perform both coronary and vascular studies on the same table without moving the patient, saving time and increasing overall patient comfort.

"Developing products that improve the patient experience and increase the quality of medical care is a top priority for Toshiba," said Don Volz, director, Vascular X-ray Business Unit, TAMS. "With the Infinix DP-i/FD2, both patients and clinicians benefit from the system's ability to perform uncompromised cardiovascular procedures in a single room. In addition, the resulting high-quality images featuring precise anatomical detail enable more accurate diagnoses."

The Infinix also offers a dual-PC processing system architecture, which permits background image processing image processing
