(TAMS) partnered with artist Daniel Koffman to create -- in real time -- a dynamic work of art at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology The American College of Cardiology (ACC) is a nonprofit medical association established in 1949 to educate, research and influence health care public policy. The president for the 2006–2007 year is Steven E. Nissen. [1] The organization has 39 chapters in the U.S. (ACC See adaptive cruise control. ). Working in the Toshiba booth, Koffman began producing a composition to capture the experience of the conference on Sunday, March 18 and completed the piece March 22. "The artwork represents a living example of Toshiba's vision of the picture of health," said Jim Burch, director, Customer Communications, Toshiba America Medical Systems. "In this era of corporate mergers and acquisitions where companies may spend more time concentrating on each other and their market share, Toshiba is highlighting the importance of its relationships with our customers and their relationships with their patients. This artwork represents Toshiba's recognition of the importance of the human touch in health care." The Picture of Health Measuring 3 feet by 6 feet, the artwork, aptly named "The Picture of Health," is comprised of two separate images. Utilizing a prism-style construction, the canvas features two scenes -- one as it's approached from the left and another as it's approached from the right. The first scene, an impressionistic design, was produced by the artist in real-time during the show. The second side of the prism features a collage of several images, including photos of trade show attendees and Toshiba clinical images. Colorful strips of paper and other materials were available for attendees to describe what "The Picture of Health," means to them. These strips were incorporated into the collage. The finished work will be donated to East Pasco Medical Center (Zephyrhills, Fla.) for permanent display.
