), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its latest line of Toshiba Satellite The Toshiba Satellite is Toshiba's flagship line of consumer-grade notebook computers. Models in the Satellite family vary greatly, from entry-level models to full-fledged Media center class notebooks. Designed to provide consumers with practical standard features as well as a variety of other configuration options to fit any budget or digital lifestyle, the Satellite A105 series notebooks start at six pounds(1) and come standard with a 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen display with TruBrite(TM) technology.

The Satellite A105-S4344 incorporates the latest Intel Centrino(R) Duo mobile platform with the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and features a new Onyx Blue Metallic color. Based on the new Intel Core Microarchitecture, the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor is designed to handle multiple tasks in less time while consuming less power and reducing fan noise and heat.

Designed for optimum multimedia performance and productivity in this form factor, the Satellite A105-S4344 incorporates the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor(2) T5500 (1.66GHz, 2MB L2, 667MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. "Toshiba's most popular line, the Satellite A105 notebooks offer consumers a wide choice of price and performance as well as productivity and entertainment features."

For enhanced multimedia performance and productivity, Toshiba announced the Satellite A105-S4284 featuring the Intel Core Duo Processor(2) T2050 (1.60GHz, 2MB L2, 533MHz FSB) as well as a 100GB serial-ATA hard drive(3) and 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM dual-channel memory(4) with a Mist Gray color. The system has an ESUP starting under $900(5).

Toshiba also announced the Satellite A105-S2201, an affordable avenue to quality portable computing with an ESUP starting under $750(5). Also in Mist Gray, the notebook features an Intel Celeron(R) M Processor(2) 420, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM of memory(4), 80GB serial-ATA hard drive(5) for ample storage of files, and Atheros(R) 802.11(b/g) wireless(6) LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. Every notebook in the new Satellite A105 notebook line comes standard with the following:

Both the Satellite A105-S4344 and Satellite A105-S4284 feature Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005, while the Satellite A105-S2231 features Microsoft Windows XP Home.
