) has introduced the newest members of its Satellite P15 notebook series, the P15-S470 and P15-S420. Designed for students, families and consumers, the Satellite P15 Series combines Toshiba's expertise in mobile computing Using a computing device while in transit. Mobile computing implies wireless transmission, but wireless transmission does not necessarily imply mobile computing. Fixed wireless applications use satellites, radio systems and lasers to transmit between permanent objects such as buildings , hardware design and digital convergence In the days of the first computers, transaction and company data were the first types of information digitized. Then came text, opening the world to word processing, followed by audio CDs and finally video. . With eye-popping graphics and built-in stereo speakers, the Satellite P15 Series provides a theater-quality experience whether watching DVDs or playing computer games.

Both new members of the Satellite P15 Series feature a brilliant 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen display. Not only perfect for viewing movies, but the 15.4-inch widescreen display is ideal for editing digital images, working on multiple applications side by side or viewing spreadsheets without having to change windows.

The Satellite P15 Series is also a serious productivity tool including an Intel Pentium 4 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology that enables better system responsiveness and performance when performing two or more applications simultaneously, as well as integrated wireless technology, a massive hard drive and plenty of memory (512 MB).

Additionally, the Satellite P15-S420 includes a built-in DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

 +-R/+-RW drive to easily view and record DVDs without the worry of compatibility issues, and the Satellite P15-S470 comes standard with a DVD Multi A specification from the DVD Forum that certifies DVD drives for media compatibility. Drives with the DVD Multi logo can read and write DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD-R discs as well as read DVD-Video and DVD-ROM. DVD Multi drives may also be able to play DVD-Audio discs.
