Torrey Science awarded follow-on contract to develop wireless communications equipment for the comprehensive test ban treaty.


SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 1996--Torrey Science Corp. announced a follow-on contract award from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), U.S. government agency administered by the Department of Defense (see Defense, United States Department of).  (DARPA) for the development and demonstration of a highly reliable, low-cost wireless communication system in support of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty nuclear test-ban treaty: see disarmament, nuclear.

This $493,000 award is the third Torrey Science has received from DARPA related to nuclear proliferation monitoring. Delivery of the system is scheduled for mid-1997.
