CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 2001
Former NetGenesis and Rational Software Executive Further
Strengthens Torrent's Senior Management Team and Leads Sales Force
Torrent(R) Systems, Inc, a leading provider of software for scalable data warehousing and business intelligence, is pleased to announce that Roger Hodskins has joined the company as vice president of worldwide sales.
Hodskins has more than 21 years of sales and marketing management experience and a solid track record of building strategic sales programs and increasing revenue and shareholder value. In his role, Hodskins is responsible for driving Torrent's growth in revenue by expanding the company's sales force worldwide, directing its field engineering and sales team operations, and contributing to the expansion of the company's strategic partner relationships. Dan DeLaney, responsible for Torrent's North American sales, and Steve Rigo, responsible for Field Engineering and Consulting Services, will report to Hodskins.
Hodskins has held senior management positions in a number of capacities. Most recently he served as senior vice president of corporate development and strategy at NetMorf, Inc. in Boston, Mass. Previously, he spent two years as vice president of worldwide sales, support and services at NetGenesis, Inc. where he grew sales eight fold in 18 months and more than quadrupled the worldwide customer installed base. Prior to NetGenesis, Hodskins held senior management and director-level positions at companies including Rational Software, SQA, Inc. and Wang Laboratories.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to lead Torrent's sales efforts as the company continues to establish itself as a leader in application frameworks for scalable business intelligence applications," said Hodskins. "Today's data environments, with the growth of Web data and real-time demands for analytics, require the movement of terabytes of data in hours, not weeks or months. Scalable and open application environments with "zero latency" throughput are needed today to unlock the invaluable information hidden in enterprise data warehouses. Torrent Systems is at the forefront of this market shift."
"Roger Hodskins has extensive expertise in the sales and service area, having served in a senior management capacity at companies such as Rational and Wang Laboratories. He also held key senior management roles in the initial public offerings (IPO) of both NetGenesis and SQA Software," said Tom Ebling, Torrent's CEO. "His experience creating strong sales and support teams, superior strategic alliances and strong relationships with investors will help Torrent continue our rapid growth and effectively capitalize upon the growing demand for our products among customers, partners, and systems integrators. We're thrilled to add Roger to our team."
