Toronto Hydro-Electric Offers Docucorp Solution for Online Utility Bill Presentment and Payment; Customers Can Now View and Pay Bills Online with eBills.

Docucorp(R) International (Nasdaq:DOCC), a leading provider of enterprise information solutions, announced today that Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited has introduced electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) to its commercial and residential customers, using Docucorp's presentment solution. Launched this month, the "eBills" service provides electronic versions of paper bills that customers can view and pay online. The City of Toronto, Canada's largest municipality, owns Toronto Hydro, which provides services to 650,000 customers.

The municipal utility was created Jan. 1, 1998, when Toronto Hydro-Electric Commission, East York Hydro, Etobicoke Hydro, North York Hydro, Scarborough Public Utilities and York Hydro were consolidated into one company. In 1999, Toronto Hydro introduced new billing statements designed with Docucorp's information solutions. In January 2001, Toronto Hydro expanded the Docucorp license for the purpose of presenting utility bills to its customers via the Internet.

All Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited residential and business customers are eligible for the service and can register online at www.torontohydro.com/eBills. Customers are directed to the Web sites of six participating financial institutions for paying monthly utility bills.

Customers benefit by using eBills in multiple ways - from being able to access current and previous bills (back to July 2000) online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week - to saving money on postage; saving time; producing less paper; and using a secure, encrypted system that protects their privacy. Once signed up for eBills, a customer will receive an e-mail advising that the eBill is ready for viewing, and that they will no longer receive a paper bill in the mail.
