:TORC), an offshore construction and pipelay company serving the oil and gas industry, announced today that Drew Michel has accepted a position on the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Michel has over 35 years of technical and senior management experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.

In an unrelated matter, the Company also announced that Eric Smith Notable people named Eric Smith have included:
  • Eric Smith (UK politician) (1908–1951), British Conservative politician, MP 1950–1951
  • Eric Smith (artist) (born 1919), Australian artist
 has resigned from his role as Executive Vice President and accepted a consulting assignment with the Company. Under the new arrangement, Mr. Smith will continue to support Torch Offshore, but will also be able to pursue planning, market analysis and financial management assignments outside of the Company.

Mr. Michel is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, a fellow in the Marine Technology Society and the co-chair, for the 11th year, of the upcoming Underwater Intervention Conference. Mr. Michel is an internationally recognized authority and frequent lecturer at technical conferences and academic institutions on the history and current state of the ROV industry.
