plant located in Tuas, Singapore, and will deliver its newly developed reverse osmosis membrane to the plant. Compared with the existing membrane, the new membrane can effectively remove boron from water, reducing the concentration of boron in water by half.

The new plant, which is constructed by Hydrochem and is to be commissioned this summer, will have a desalination capacity of 136,000 tons per day. Toray expects that its new membrane will contribute to securing an adequate supply of water in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the US, and Europe where water shortages are worsening.
