Topical anesthetic.


Cetacaine[R] Hospital Gel, Topical Anesthetic, manufactured by Cetylite Industries, Inc., puts the effective pain relief of fast-acting, long-lasting Cetacaine in an easy-to-use gel that stays where it is needed. The gel can be applied to instruments for lubricity, to facilitate insertion.

This prescription drug produces rapid anesthesia (within seconds) and is effective for up to 30 minutes per application. It controls pain and eases discomfort, thus providing patient cooperation during the following procedures: head and neck exams, endotracheal intubation, laryngeal laryngeal /lar·yn·ge·al/ (lah-rin´je-al) pertaining to the larynx.
