CORVALLIS - Oregon State ended an eight-match Pac-10 volleyball losing streak Friday by sweeping Washington State 30-21, 30-27, 30-18.

"Our team deserved a win so badly," Oregon State coach Nancy Somera said. "It's definitely nice to have the satisfaction at the end of the night."

Allison Lawrence had 14 kills to lead the Beavers (9-11 overall, 3-8 Pac-10), who had a .252 hitting average to Washington State's .085.

Desma Stovall had 40 assists and Nina Baltimore had 20 digs for Oregon State, which plays at Arizona State on Thursday.

STANFORD, Calif. - After 80 minutes of scoreless play, Stanford scored twice in a two-minute span to beat Oregon 2-0 in a Pac-10 women's soccer game Friday.

BERKELEY, Calif. - Oregon State goalkeeper Melissa Onstad had nine saves as the Beavers played to a 0-0 tie with California in a Pac-10 women's soccer game Friday.

Oregon State is 8-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference games after the tie. California is 9-4-3 and 2-2-2.

"It was a great battling performance today," Oregon State coach Steve Fennah said. "We had hard work throughout the team, back to front defensively, we created a couple of good opportunities."
