Top- & side-entry robots for fast-cycling jobs.

An ultra-high-speed servo An electromechanical device that uses feedback to provide precise starts and stops for such functions as the motors on a tape drive or the moving of an access arm on a disk.  robot for fast part removal and a side-entry robot for thin-wall applications are new from Wittmann Inc., Torrington, Conn. In a network packet, headers are appended to the payload for transport and then discarded at their destination.  capacity of 22 lb and can zip in and out of the mold in 0.3 to 0.5 sec. Designed for presses up to 300 tons, it has a vertical axis with 1200-mm stroke. The vertical axis is driven directly through pinions linked to an indexing belt. To absorb high acceleration/deceleration forces, the vertical axis is a stiff, lightweight aluminum profile with an internally reinforced, torsion-stable kick stroke. The integrated control cabinet is mounted behind the horizontal axis to save floorspace.

Wittmann's new W7x5 side-entry robot (pictured) provides part-removal times as fast as 0.2 sec. It moves like a SCARA robot with triple rotating joints on the horizontal axis. The unit has a servo linear kick stroke of 300 mm, servo horizontal axis of 890 mm, and wrist flip. Pneumatic vertical stroke (servo optional) up to 100 mm allows parts to be placed below the centerline cen·ter·line

2. A painted line running along the center of a road or highway that divides it into two sections for traffic moving in opposite directions, or, in the case of
of the press. The robot comes standard with Wittmann's CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) See numerical control.
